Sarsaparilla Relieves Menopause Symptoms

Try the Sarsaparilla herb as a soft drink, supplement, or tea, for a natural remedy for menopause symptoms. It is said to increase estrogen and progesterone, alleviate joint problems, urinary problems, skin problems, fatigue, and increase your libido.

What is Sarsaparilla?

And why should you drink it?

That is the question.

Dubbed a cure-all elixir, it is a natural remedy for anything that ails you.

Even menopause!

But what is it exactly?

Otherwise known as Smilax ornate, it is a herb found in Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America.

It’s a trailing vine with a prickly stem used to make a soft drink.

Yes, a soft drink.

This drink used to be made in the 19th century in the old West. It was quite popular. It tasted like beer and was often referred to as a ‘sissy drink’ when ordered at a saloon.

A sissy drink!

Cowboys would drink it before visiting a brothel because it was said to prevent syphilis and gonorrhea. In fact, from 1820 – 1910 sarsaparilla was registered in the US Pharmacopeia as a valid syphilis treatment.

Seriously! A valid syphilis treatment!

That’s huge!

Nowadays, extensive research has been done on this herb. Along with the healing qualities, it is said to alleviate a great deal of menopausal symptoms. It is said to increase estrogen and progesterone, alleviate joint problems, urinary problems, skin problems, fatigue, and increase your libido.

Wow!

The herb is believed to have qualities that can flush out toxins due to its antioxidant properties.

It’s believed to enhance vision as well as nourish the colon and liver.

In some cultures, it is used to treat leprosy because of its anti-inflammatory properties.

Leprosy? Now that’s a strong drink!

Rheumatism, gout, and arthritis are also known to benefit from this herb.

There is no doubt in my mind that Sarsaparilla could quite possibly be one of the best ‘undiscovered’ natural treatments for menopause symptoms and old age, I have ever stumbled upon.

Honestly, I haven’t tried this lovely drink yet, but it’s on my to-do list. The research alone is enough to convince me to at least try it. This study on Sarsaparilla has not only fascinated me, but peaked my curiosity.

I loved researching this herb, and can’t believe I hadn’t heard of it before. Anything potent enough to treat syphilis and leprosy is a keeper in my book.

I’ve found a few different kinds of Sarsaparilla on the market, so your options are numerous. I actually checked out my local health food store to see if I could find it there, but I was only able to find a small bottle of supplements.

I wanted to try the soft drink in particular.

Just thinking about the drink makes me envision myself in the wild wild west.

I think it’s cool that they used to drink this stuff in the saloons.

I found the actual soft drink for sale on Amazon!

You can also find kits to make it, and supplements if you would rather take that. But the pop is what I find interesting.
